This lovely, little example of engraved Swedish crystal comes from the Kjellander Brothers Workshop, in the famed Kingdom of Glass, in Småland, Sweden. The flower motif, engraved to wrap around the vase, is a favorite theme in Sweden. The vase is 3.5 inches tall and 3 inches wide, and it weighs less than a pound. It has a small chip (a flea bite) on the back of the rim, as shown in the photos, otherwise it's in excellent condition.
Four generations of glass carvers in the Kjellander family trained and worked at Kosta Glassworks, from 1825 to 1924. In 1924, the Kjellanders opened their own engraving workshop in Vetlanda, Sweden. The brothers, Åke and Nils, continued their work there until 1983.
