This bowl was designed circa 1969 by Sig Persson and Lisa Bauer, at Kosta Glassworks in Sweden. The engraving depicts Bluebells. It is about 6 inches tall, 6.5 inches in diameter, and it weighs 2 pounds. Like any Swedish crystal, it sparkles and sings - a gentle tap rewards you with a clear tone in D! The Bluebell (Campanula rotundifolia) is the national flower of Sweden. It won a public vote in 2021.
Sigurd Persson was a renowned midcentury designer of glass, silver, and flatware. He was at Kosta from 1968 to 1982. His work is signed "Sig P" and I believe this vase says Sig P - Bauer, meaning that it was a collaboration.
Lisa Bauer (1920-2003) worked as an artist and designer at Kosta, then Kosta Boda, from 1969 - 1991. She was the first female artist with any "tenure" at Kosta, working there from 1969 to 1991 (she died in 2003). Bauer also designed the Maria Window(s) in the magnificent Linköping Cathedral in Sweden. (Google it!)
